Weiss & Paarz, P.C.
Serving New Jersey – Pennsylvania – Nationwide*
JOHN P. MUELLER, ESQ. is a licensed attorney in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Prior to joining Weiss & Paarz, Mr. Mueller had a fourteen-year legal career defending corporations against lawsuits claiming catastrophic injury and death that were alleged to have been caused by medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nursing home care, and consumer products. He has tried over ten cases involving significant exposure to verdict and has worked as outside counsel with some of the leading law firms in the country.
Mr. Mueller always knew someday that he would devote his legal career to be an advocate for victims and families, but he just did not know when. For many years, he served as a member of the District of New Jersey Civil Pro Bono Panel and as a Child Advocate in Philadelphia, and these experiences opened his eyes to the tangible benefits of helping people. When he realized that he could not effect change to the standard of care or practices as part of an organization, he knew he needed to step to the plaintiffs’ side to achieve justice.
Background & Education
Mr. Mueller is a proud graduate of Milton Hershey School (MHS), a private philanthropic boarding school in Hershey, Pennsylvania, established in 1909 for financially impoverished children. After eight years at MHS, he attended the University of Pennsylvania on an NROTC scholarship, and walked-on the NCAA Division I Crew Team and made the Varsity boat. After graduation, he served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain after five honorable years of service.
He graduated with honors from the Rutgers University School of Law, where he was selected as the Research Editor for the Rutgers Law Journal. While in law school, Mr. Mueller advocated on behalf of indigent clients concerning bankruptcy, voting, and immigration rights, and was awarded the Rutgers’ Pro Bono Publico Award for his dedication to community service. Upon graduation, he served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez, U.S.D.J. in the United States District Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Mueller is a member of the American Association for Justice, and the Camden County and Philadelphia Bar Associations. In his free time he volunteers as the Program Director for the Cherry Hill Girls Travel Basketball League, and coaches youth soccer and basketball.
