JAMES E. DRAKE, Esq. joined Weiss & Paarz after spending over 10 years defending complex medical malpractice lawsuits in New Jersey.

After completing his law school education with a concentration in litigation, Mr. Drake clerked in the New Jersey Superior Court for the Honorable James P. Savio, J.S.C. (ret.). At the conclusion of his clerkship, he practiced law as an associate and quickly became partner at a defense medical malpractice law firm in Southern New Jersey.

As a defense medical malpractice attorney, Mr. Drake had primary responsibility for litigating medical malpractice cases involving nearly every medical specialty and subspecialty, such as anesthesiology, cardiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, gastroenterology, internal medicine, infectious disease, neurological surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, nephrology, neurology, orthopedic surgery, clinical neurophysiology, psychiatry, pulmonology, and more. These cases often involved allegations of surgical errors, misdiagnosis, failure to diagnose, delayed diagnosis, failure to treat, and medical device failures. He has litigated medical malpractice cases on behalf of clients in the trial court, Appellate Division, and Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Mr. Drake joined Weiss & Paarz in 2023 with the goal of using his extensive experience to help the victims of medical malpractice in cases involving catastrophic injuries, birth injuries, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, wrongful birth, and wrongful death.
